Off hand, I don't know how to tell Quantian (ie Knoppix) not to bother with
eth0. I take it that is part of the laptop / motherboard ?
You could play with options like persistant home to have a script executed --
that can automate your three steps to get networking once eth1 is ready and
eth0 is ignored.
