[Quantian-general] Quantian .7.9.2 and Averatec 1000 problem

I am able to boot .7.9.2 to and old Sony laptop and to my main computer,
apparently without difficulty. When I try to boot my Averatec 1000 notebook
computer it fails. Running debug lang=us, I obtain the warning:
'EXT2-fs warning: maximal mount count reached, running e2fsck is recommended'
The boot then continues to stage 3, the last line displayed is:
'Network device eth1 detected, DHCP broadcasting for IP.'
The computer just hangs there. I need to use the emergency poweroff to
restart things.
Suggestions please. What can I do about the warning? Any other suggestions
about hardware that should be excluded? Please be specific about suggestions
with correct syntax, since I am a novice, and just telling me to go there and
do this may not be very helpful.
