This line _should_ have been added, but you added:

 set_gimp_PLUG_IN_INFO_PTR(&PLUG_IN_INFO);

which does not work with OS/2. Please change.

Unfortunately I did not succeed to get XSsane work as
Gimp-Plug-in anyway. It allways crashes my system :-(

XSane works here standalone, not much tested,
but mail, copy and scan work.

One little problem with mail:
In a test-mail to my account I entered
  text zum Test üä
in the text-area and received:
  text zum Test üä/
