[sane-devel] hard to find a supported scanner these days

I can only confirm your observations. Model changes get faster and
faster and the models are often completely different, so it's not just
a simple change in the driver.

I can only recommend to try to get a second hand device by e.g. Ebay
or better, at local computer fairs or similar.

Sometimes you have success with mail order dealers like alternate.
However, currently I can also only find unsupported (Mustek) models.
