          different, check that the scanner is plugged in, turned on and

Not much...

/usr/local/sane-find-sanner says:
sane-find-scanner: found processor "HP C2500A 3332" at device /dev/scanner
sane-find-scanner: found processor "HP C2500A 3332" at device /dev/sg2
