Hello,

I have the prior specified configuration and I'm sorry not to be able to
'make' the kernel - it was an .rpm file. The kernel is running fine. The
scanner is shown as follows:
	Host: scsi3 Channel: 00 Id: 00 Lun: 00
Vendor: HP Model: ScanJet 5370C Rev: 6.00
Type: Scanner ANSI SCSI revision: 02
in /lib/modules/2.4.16-4GB/kernel/drivers/usb, there's no avision.o or
something like that. I tried to gcc the small program scanner.c (of
scanner-0.4.5-4.tar.gz). I've loaded the module hpusbscsi as described in a
"Getting the HP 5300C to work with Linux" - the description is quite old, it
tell's HowTo with kernel 2.4.2.

Maybe there's a solution - like an avision.o (or maybe .c) that works with my
configuration.

Thanks
Wolfgang
