[sane-devel] rescan-scsibus no longer works

As I just rebooted I tried:

* Power off scanner.
* Power on computer
* run "modprobe aic7xxx" (my SCSI controller) and "modpobe sg"
* cat /proc/scsi/scsi shows nothing
* power on scanner
* cat /proc/scsi/scsi shows nothing
* run "rescan-scsibus"
* cat /proc/scsi/scsi shows my scanner

This is Linux 2.4.19pre1.

Maybe the problem exists if the SCSI driver is compiled into the kernel?
