Hi,
The problem of sane1.0.8 that Canoscan300 with ISA SCSI on Mandrake had a
segfault was reported.
I have modified the canon-files for this problem.
I exchanged "s" for "0" at the last parameter of sanei_scsi_open function in
canon-sane.c.

Till Kamppeter put the modified canon-files on the following web site:
 http://www.linuxprinting.org/till/tmp/canon1.0.8.tar.gz

Would you test this canon-files in SANE1.0.8 or SANE1.0.9?
