[sane-devel] SUSE 8.0, Epson Perfection 1660

I have SUSE 8.0,  SANE 1.0.7-59 and an Epson Perfection 1660 Photo, 
installed as Epson Perfection 1650 (SUSE 8.0 has not  the 1660 in its 
database).
Every time I switch on the computer I have to re-install the scanner because 
SANE says "no devices available". 
If I do not switch off, but go from root to user and
back to root even repeated several times, no problem.
