I've added the @PACKAGEVERSION@ to the Makefile.in in CVS now.

Other packages use also the name of the package as the fifth argument
like this:

.TH sane-mustek 5 "9 Nov 2002" @PACKAGEVERSION@ "SANE Scanner Access Now Easy"

Header:
sane-mustek(5)           SANE Scanner Access Now Easy             sane-mustek

Footer:
sane-backends-1.0.9-cvs           9 Nov 2002                   sane-mustek(5)
