Thank you for this assurance. I've already accepted that but since I don't
know low-level access issues I wanted to see whether there is anything I've
missed.

Anyway, thanks and congratulations to the developers of the backend
supporting the parallel connection. The Win/Mac drivers only support SCSI
;-)
