You could switch it to use the sb-uhci module. If you use the kernel from your
distribution, it should be available.
You can as root change it in /etc/modules.conf. It should list this now:
alias usb-interface0 uhci

You can change it to:
alias usb-interface0 usb-uhci

After a reboot you can it should have been changed.
