And this will not change: As I said earlier, EPSON only has one
scanner configuration that they market worldwide. They do however
use different names for this scanner: It's marketed as a GT-XXXX
in the Asian region, and as a Perfection YYYY everywhere else. The
firmware reports the GT-XXXX name and this is all the Sane backend
has access to. This means that even though the box the scanner came
in says Perfection 1650, and the driver says Perfection 1650, and
the scanner has a label that says Perfection 1650, if you go down
to the firmware level, it is a GT-XXXX scanner.

Unless we can integrate the mind-reading interface I've been working
on for the last couple of years (not very successfully I have to add),
we will not be able to determine if somebody has bought a Perfection YYYY
or a GT-XXXX scanner. :-)
