Hi,

I'm not sure about these specific scanners, but a generic thing to try
is removing backends from /usr/local/etc/sane.d/dll.conf that you're not
using (ie, all but the epson one by the sound of it), as they can try to
open the scanner and confuse it or confuse themselves.
