Sorry for confusion. I did use your desc file (from the .tar.gz) and
just modified it a bit. With comitting it to CVS I meant SANE CVS, not
your CVS. If it's in SANE CVS, it will be automatically pulled by the
scanner search engine and users will find a link to your backend when
searching for hp 5400.
