Thanks but at least I don't see what's going wrong. Looks like
xscanimage can't handle the resolution list given by the epson backend
for some reason.

Please also send us the output of

SANE_DEBUG_EPSON=255 xscanimage 
(do whatever you need to do to crash it)

Maybe that helps us find out of it's the fault of the epson backend or
xscanimage frontend. 

I'm a bit surprised that nobody else found out abaut this bug.
