Hi,

please give some more details:

what does 
scanimage -L
says?

What Distribution and what SANE version do you use (Mandrake 9.0 is buggy,
check dll.conf for an entry 
microtek2)

Try to link /dev/sg0 to /dev/scanner and check the permissions of /dev/sg0.
