[sane-devel] Re: umax_pp works well with "port 0x378" bot not with "/dev/parport0"

OK, done. It works now as root with port /dev/parport0, but still as normal 
user, I get the following:

sven@gimli:/dev$ /usr/src/sane-backends-1.0.12/tools/umax_pp -p -t 32

[umax_pp_low] SANE_INB level 3
[umax_pp_low] sanei_umax_pp_InitPort(0x378,(null))
[umax_pp_low] sanei_ioperm() could not gain access to 0x378
failed to gain direct acces to port 0x378!

permissions are:
sven@gimli:/dev$ ls -l parp*
crw-rw-rw-    1 root     lp        99,   0 2003-10-13 12:18 parport0
crw-rw-rw-    1 root     lp        99,   1 2003-10-13 12:18 parport1
crw-rw-rw-    1 root     lp        99,   2 2003-10-13 12:18 parport2

PPDIAG (as root) is still:
sven@gimli:/dev$ sudo /home/sven/bin/ppdiag
S01: parport built as module

S02: parport0:
S02:    modes:PCSPP,TRISTATE,EPP
S02:    ADDR :0x378
S02:    IRQ  :7
S02:    DMA  :no DMA used

S03: no parport parameters

S10: couldn't find if ppdev is built in or a module
S10: It is likely that your kernel configuration has no ppdev support
S10: exiting ...


Did I miss anything?
