Hi.

Last time, I tried to use my HP 5370C, it didn't work and the
problem ("bulk timeout") seemed to be difficult to spot for
the developers (kernel, usb driver, libusb, ...).

I tried again yesterday and still no luck :-(
"scanimage" hangs and the lamp starts flashing, and doesn't stop
even after scanimage is "kill"ed; I have to pull the power plug.

Meanwhile, "messages.log" contains:
[...]
Aug 24 00:34:20 localhost kernel: usb 2-1: bulk timeout on ep3in
Aug 24 00:34:20 localhost kernel: usb 2-1: usbfs: USBDEVFS_BULK failed ep 0x83 len 4096 ret -110
Aug 24 00:34:50 localhost kernel: usb 2-1: bulk timeout on ep2in
Aug 24 00:34:50 localhost kernel: usb 2-1: usbfs: USBDEVFS_BULK failed ep 0x82 len 1 ret -110
Aug 24 00:35:20 localhost kernel: usb 2-1: bulk timeout on ep3in
Aug 24 00:35:20 localhost kernel: usb 2-1: usbfs: USBDEVFS_BULK failed ep 0x83 len 22 ret -110
[...]

The output of "scanimage -L":

device `v4l:/dev/video0' is a Noname BT878 video (Pinnacle PCTV Stud virtual device
device `avision:libusb:002:005' is a Hewlett-Packard ScanJet 5370C flatbed scanner

Versions (on Debian):
libsane 1.0.14-7
sane 1.0.12-2
scanimage (sane-backends) 1.0.14; backend version 1.0.14

Is the problem due to the module "uhci_hcd"? And who can fix it?

Thanks for your help.
