 Hello,

does anyone know if the Nikon LS-50 ED is supported by sane ?

sane-find-scanner answers:

found USB scanner (vendor=0x04b0, product=0x4001) at libusb:001:002
# Your USB scanner was (probably) detected. It may or may not be
# supported by
# SANE. Try scanimage -L and read the backend's manpage.

scanimage -L answers:

No scanners were identified. If you were expecting something different,
check that the scanner is plugged in, turned on and detected by the
sane-find-scanner tool (if appropriate). Please read the documentation
which came with this software (README, FAQ, manpages).

and cat /proc/bus/usb/devices:

T: Bus=01 Lev=01 Prnt=01 Port=02 Cnt=01 Dev#= 2 Spd=480 MxCh= 0
D: Ver= 2.00 Cls=ff(vend.) Sub=ff Prot=ff MxPS=64 #Cfgs= 1
P: Vendor=04b0 ProdID=4001 Rev= 1.02
S: Manufacturer=Nikon
S: Product=LS-50 ED
C:* #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=c0 MxPwr= 2mA
I: If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 2 Cls=ff(vend.) Sub=ff Prot=ff Driver=(none)
E: Ad=01(O) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 512 Ivl=0ms
E: Ad=82(I) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 512 Ivl=0ms

Is these a possibility to use it at least as a LS-40, without the
new specific features ?

 Thanks,
