Can one help me to type the terminal question right?

What is the complete syntax to look for SANE in OSX?
I tried with

usr/local/bin

in front of

sane-find-scanner -v -v

(with and w/o sudo)
The FAQ also says

sudo emacs /usr/local/etc/sane.d/?name of your backend?.conf

My HD is named "X", the computers name is "G3". What is the name of my
backend? Is it the Model name shown by Apple Profiler? Would be PS4800
in my case. Here are the terminal results:

Last login: Mon May 17 20:06:59 on console

[G3:~] ot% sudo X /usr/local/etc/sane.d/PS4800.conf

[G3:~] ot% sudo G3/usr/local/etc/sane.d/PS4800.conf
Password:
sudo: G3/usr/local/etc/sane.d/PS4800.conf: command not found
[G3:~] ot% sudo G3 /usr/local/etc/sane.d/PS4800.conf

thanks for any help,
thomas
