Hi everyone,

Having a problem scanning across the network with win32-xsane.

First off, setup of the server machine.

PPC box w/2.4.26, sane-backends-1.0.14 and epson perfection 1250.
libusb-0.1.7, xinetd-2.3.12

Using xsane-0.93 on the PPC/linux box locally, I can scan just fine.
Everything is working well.

When scanning across the network using win32-xsane-0.90 I can do one
scan just fine. However, when I try to do a second scan, xsane dies on
the windows box, the scanner is no longer recognizable by the linux/ppc
"server" box and on the linux ppc box I see the following lines in the
dmesg output.

usbdevfs: USBDEVFS_BULK failed dev 6 ep 0x82 len 1 ret -75
usbdevfs: USBDEVFS_BULK failed dev 6 ep 0x3 len 5 ret -32

cycling the power on the scanner allows it to be recognized once again
and usable.

On the windows box, I've tested both a preview scan for the first scan
and then another preview. A preview scan then a regular scan and a
regular scan right off the bat then either a preview or regular scan
2nd.

In every case, the first scan completes fine, the 2nd attempt dies from
the windows box.

Seems to me that there is some sort of issue with the completion of the
first scan and closing out access to the scanner. Don't think its a
backend problem b/c local scanning works great and I have no problem
with multiple scans. Seems to be some combination or win32-xsane/saned

I'm at a bit of a loss as to how I can troubleshoot this further.
Unfortunately I don't have another linux box on my small network that I
can test with to determine whether the problem is with win32-xsane or
rather with saned.

Any pointers for troubleshooting this further would be much appreciated!

Thanks,
Keith
