FTR, the upcoming release of sane-backends-1.0.18 and iscan-1.18.0
should fix this "usblp claiming device" problem as well.  The CX4200,
however, will not be supported out of the box.  You will still need
that

  usb 0x04b8 0x0820

line in your epson.conf.
