I've put a patch file for the Lexmark X1100 backend on my website.
Instructions for getting it are at
http://ca.geocities.com/freshshelf@rogers.com/scanner_driver/download.html

The driver has been tested with tstbackend, scanimage, and xscanimage.
It gets a segmentation fault with xsane.
All testing has been done on Linux RH Fedora Core 3, with the Lexmark
X1185. The Lexmark X1110, X1140, X1150, and
X1170 all use the same Windows driver, so the assumption is that they
will work with this backend as well.

Status:

The backend has been tested with varying degrees of success in the
following combinations:
*Resolution
* 	*Mode
* 	*Sizes Tested
*
75dpi Colour
	wallet, 3x5, 4x6, 5x7, 8x10, letter
75dpi
	Grayscale
	wallet, 3x5, 4x6, 5x7, 8x10, letter
150dpi
	Colour
	wallet, 3x5, 4x6, 5x7, 8x10, letter
150dpi
	Grayscale
	wallet, 3x5, 4x6, 5x7, 8x10, letter
300dpi
	Colour
	wallet, 3x5, 4x6, 5x7, 8x10, letter
300dpi
	Grayscale
	wallet, 3x5, 4x6, 5x7, 8x10, letter
600dpi
	Colour
	wallet, 3x5, 4x6, 5x7, 8x10, letter
600dpi Grayscale
	wallet, 3x5, 4x6, 5x7, 8x10, letter
1200dpi (600x1200)
	Colour wallet, 3x5
1200dpi (600x1200) Grayscale wallet, 3x5

Note at some of the larger scans xscanimage crashed with a filesize too
larger error even though the scan produced a successful image file.

To Do List:
- fix endian byte ordering bug in colour scans (really noticable at low
resolutions)
- more testing
- fix jerky movement on 600dpi grayscale 8x10 scan
- add documentation
- code clean-up as per /* F.O. ....*/ comments
- add dark compensation
- add calibration
- what's going on with xsane - why the segmentation fault?

thats all for now,
Fred Odendaal
