[sane-devel] scan stops halfway and an empty image is saved

Linux Gutsy recognizes HP Photosmart C4280. 
Feisty didn't.
I could make one scan after I upgraded to Gutsy.

But some days later I tried to scan  and it stopped halfway, showing nothing 
but a small vertical line in the middle of the image of 25 pixels.

The hardware works fine with copying and printing under Linux and under 
Windoos XP pro images are scanned correctly.

Any suggestions?
