Now need check if you get a similar behavior under Windows. 
In such case, would require a usb snoop and network log on Windows, to
check for protocol differences with pixma backend.

So that would require to take log trace with xsane:

$ export SANE_DEBUG_PIXMA=11
$ xsane 2> Somelogfile

perform a 2 pages / Button controlled scans in xsane, then close xsane,
zip the Somelogfile you get, and send it back to me.
