Ok, so now I understand your issue, it appears when using gimp with the
xsane acquisition menu, looks like something is wrong here as it does
not care for the page number (I did reproduce that too) and scans only
one page. 

So probably something to be notified to the gimp team. 

To Sane devs: can you reproduce that (scan from gimp with xsane
acquisition menu, and specifiy 2 pages to scan) with another backend
than the pixma backend ?
