[sane-devel] infoprint 1650 mfp

Allan,
I agree that it would be more desirable to have Ubuntu start the process,
but from what I see even the great Windows can't do that. First the Windows
operator "initiates" the scan under Windows. Then a minute or so until she
gets up from the Windows machine and walks over to the printer. She presses
a button on the printer and THAT is what is doing the work. When the printer
is done with the scan, it sends the pdf file back to the Windows folder.

I would be perfectly happy to try to contribute anything I can since I would
like to dump Windows. The question is: will wireshark give me the string
which Windows is apparently sending to the printer. Maybe there is an easier
way to know what string is being sent? Because of the long time delay, and
the necessary user intervention at the printer, I seriously doubt that the
Windows process is in charge.
