	Hello,

	this old web page has some information for UMAX 1220P which may be of 
some help: http://umax1220p.sourceforge.net/trouble.html . The plustek-pp man 
page recommends that the port should be set in BIOS to EPP, not ECP.
	I also had many issues with incorrect build time kernel configuration 
regarding superio chipset use. I think it is worth checking.
