[sane-devel] Writing a new backend

Hi all

i created a standalone program to scan using Ricoh SP1000s MFU device 
which is not currently supported by sane.
the program is in python. it supports all of the capabilities of a 
scanner and is stable.
what is the best way for me to make it available for sane?
i would like to use existing python code for that and not rewrite 
everything into C.
