OK, in 14.04 now XSane works VERY well! The combination of this Scanner
[Canon Pixma MX-925] and XSane produced very high quality scans.
However, in 12.04 XSane starts to open then crashes, still. I'll try
purging and re-installing in 12.04 one more time and report.  Peter
