[sane-devel] is sane broken?

Hi Alex,

the Epson Perfection 2480 PHOTO is not supported by sane out of the box.  
Instead you need the epkowa external backend included in the package  
"libsane-extras" and an interpreter you have to get directly from Epson at  
the following adress:  
http://download.ebz.epson.net/dsc/search/01/search/?OSC=LX
