[sane-devel] Brother: does not scan

Hi,

another approach:

this is what I get from simple-scann:

[+3,18s] DEBUG: scanner.vala:891: sane_open ("brother2:bus1;dev4") ->
SANE_STATUS_INVAL
[+3,18s] WARNING: scanner.vala:895: Unable to open device: Invalid argument

the function sane-open() returns this value: SANE_STATUS_INVAL.

I found this function in the SANE-sources in the file backend/net.c. The
function looks like:

SANE_Status
sane_open (SANE_String_Const full_name, SANE_Handle * meta_handle)

In this file I see macros of the type DBG(). How can I activate these
macros?

With these messages I hope to find the line that causes the return-code
of SANE_STATUS_INVAL. Maybe this will help.
