4120 (MF 4100 series) and someone had developped a driver for his MF4150 that
was supposed to work well on other 4100 models but no further test

both OpenSuze 11.1 and Ubunu 8.10 and have done the following thing

dependencies for backport compilation</SPAN></FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2><SPAN class=026113614-04022009>- ./configure +
make + make install</SPAN></FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2><SPAN class=026113614-04022009>- then i checked
that my usb printer was detected by sane-find-scanner and used the IDs to add a
line in </SPAN></FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT><SPAN class=026113614-04022009><FONT face=Arial
size=2>/etc/udev/rules.d/<some_prefix>libsane.rules</FONT></SPAN></FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT><SPAN class=026113614-04022009><FONT><FONT face=Arial size=2>- Add
myself to 'lp' group</FONT></FONT></SPAN></FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT><SPAN class=026113614-04022009><FONT><FONT face=Arial size=2>- Reboot
and ....</FONT></FONT></SPAN></FONT></DIV>
