please find debug from sane below. Hope it helps to identify the
issue. After run scanimage for first time scanner seems to be stuck
somehow and it needs to be plugged out from AC adapter to get it
working again. It works like a charm in Win7 & WinXP. In case
you'll need anything else, just let me know.<br>

I have the same problem as Gaspar had a year ago. You asked
him to send you USB Snoop capture, so you can find my logfile
attached. I have HP ScanJet 4500c identified as 0x03f0/0x1205
under Debian Squeeze with sane 1.0.21. If you need anything
else what could help you to identify the issue, please let me
know.<br>

would be great if you could run the backend with increased debug
level (just to reiterate over the problem), eg:<br>
SANE_DEBUG_HP5590=50 scanimage > image.pnm 2>hp5590.log and
send the log file over the list?<br>
