<br>The multifunctional has a small display, when I ran the command, it changed from '1' to a few lines that try to simulate a rotation and just before the last chunk of hex code the display changed back to '1'. So I am guessing there is some chatting going on, but the right one.<br>

I think you might have to set some of the debug flags first to get<br>
more information on the problem. See the man pages for the pixma<br>
backend.<br>
With such information, it should not be too hard to add exceptions for<br>
this model, since it does not do very high scan resolutions.<br>
