Hello

First thanks for the quick answer!

I must admit, that some "numbers" of my problem changed: After

downgrading ubuntu 11.04 to 10.10 AND
downgrading suse 11.4 to 11.3

I realised: the running version of xsane with ubuntu 10.10 AND suse
11.3 was

xsane .997

As I am no champion in debugging I have problems with Your demans to
send the Lexmark-scan.log file. I don't exactly know how to create
this file an where to look at it ....

but I can send results of 75 dpi scanning and 150 dpi scanning

export SANE_DEBUG_LEXMARK=255
export SANE_DEBUG_LEXMARK_LOW=255
scanimage --resolution 150 2>lexmark-scan.log >lexmark-scan.pnm

        Hello,
I need more information to have an idea of what is going on. You can
generate debug data by running the following commands:
export SANE_DEBUG_LEXMARK=255
export SANE_DEBUG_LEXMARK_LOW=255
scanimage --resolution 150 2>lexmark-scan.log >lexmark-scan.pnm
        then send the lexmark-scan.log file.
Regards,
        Stef
