Thanks for your reply.<div><br></div><div>Of course I've already tried that with no luck at all.</div><div>The short story of things that already was tried (all of them failed):</div><div>1. Added scanner's usb id to xerox_mfp.conf. Double checked udev rules for correctness. Blacklisted usblp and built SANE with usb support.</div>
<div>2. Got reports that SCX-4200 "just works" with latest Ubuntu. Checked patches for Ubuntu package. None of them were related, however I gave it a try with no luck.</div><div>3. Installed latest Ubuntu just to be sure and eliminate the fact that I could forgot some small detail.</div>
<div>4. Tried several different versions of Samsung's Unified Driver on my Gentoo and that clean Ubuntu I've just installed.</div><div>There are several comments related to this issue in Gentoo's bugzilla under the name "Coacher": <a href="https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=139715">https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=139715</a></div>
<div>However, it is not SANE related.<br>5. Recompiled 3.0.8 kernel with changed Makefile to make it <a href="http://2.6.40.8">2.6.40.8</a>:</div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: monospace; font-size: medium; white-space: pre-wrap; ">VERSION = 2</span></div>

Try to add USB ids of your device to your xerox.conf<br>
