</blockquote></div>I have also been googling for similar issues and there are a number of similar bug reports in the mailing lists of various linux distributions where people have found sb2 scanners failing to work when connected to usb3 ports in the past year. One such report is in the kernel bugzilla at <a href="https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47421">https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47421</a> and the linked linux-usb thread looks like it had some serious discussion but it did not look like there was a resolution to the problem.  </div><div class="gmail_extra"><br></div><div class="gmail_extra">So this would seem to indicate that linux kernel support for usb3 remains problematic and it may be that this is the underlying root cause of the problems I have had?<br><br clear="all"><div><br></div>-- <br>mike c
