</span>I had the same issue a while back with an LiDE 220 and Gentoo. It was<br>
working for a while, but more recently, it's started having the same<br>
problems that you describe. Depending on your motherboard, your USB 2.0<br>
ports might still be driven by a USB 3.0 controller.<br>

At the time, I was about ready to buy a PCI Express USB 2.0 controller<br>
through which to connect the scanner, but then a change in SANE appeared<br>
to fix the problem. Now that it's acting up again, I'm thinking maybe I<br>
should've bought that controller after all.<br>
