[Soc-coordination] One month in
neilm at debian.org
Thu Jun 26 08:49:03 UTC 2008
It's now exactly one month since students began coding for their GSoC
projects, and it's time to start thinking about mid-term evaluations.
We're (the admin team) are being a little worried that we've not heared
much recently, so please re-assure us that everything's going OK with a
quick mail about how your student (or your mentor if you're a student
and are reading this!) is getting on. We really need to know any
problems, issues and progress sooner rather than later!
As for mid-term evaluations; these are very, *very* important to complete.
Students need to pass these to get paid. Students also need to submit
their own about their mentors to get paid.
As this may not affect the mentors too much, I will be telling the
students your home address if you don't do the evaluations, and will be
letting natural justice take it's toll :)
The previous years mentor and student questions are still around,
so please have a look when you can. It won't take long to do these, but
I really need to stress the importance of it.
So, in summary:
* Please send us your short fortnightly report if you haven't done so
already as soon as possible
* Start thinking about the midterm evaluations
* Tell us if you have any problems
* Ponies will be available for petting at the end of the programme .
I can neither confirm nor deny the actual existance of ponies for
the purposes of petting.
< MadCoder> and right now I'm wearing a tutu and am doing dance steps
< Maulkin> I'm scared by the French cabal in tutus.
< HE> The french cabal doesn't need tutus to scare me.
< HE> They have combined computing power (see lucas) with pure madness (see Joss)
