Very good stuff man.

I could cut down the seconds by 2 or so. I'll try removing the
unnecessary sleep() calls in C and especially initrc scripts. Since
the way the fifo works it doesn't really require splashy to sleep at
any point.
Also, we don't have to wait for gdm/kdm/xdm or simply X to start,
since now we are switching to a predefined terminal when the boot
process is done.
