Hi,

With latest debian 2.6.32-trunk kernel and
xserver-xorg-video-intel(2:2.9.1-2) which
enables kms by default I finally got splashy working on my intel 945
grahphic card with
kernel mode setting by adding these three lines:
  intel_agp
  drm
  i915 modeset=1
to /etc/initramfs-tools/modules and  update-initramfs -u

I don't why but I assume that the i915 module in my case should be
loaded at a very early
stage during boot otherwise splashy will get errors like `connection refused'

what's more It is no longer necessary to specify
set=gfxpayload=1024x768 at 32 in the grub.cfg

#lspci
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS,
943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03)

# cat /proc/fb
0 inteldrmfb
