Hi Kai,

Actually I have also been trying to make the splashy work on my VIA CX 700 M2 chipset by taking sources from Debian Sid and compiling them against the Debian Etch system but I am encountering Errors when splashy starts from /etc/init.d

If it is not a trouble for you can please highlight the steps that you took to backport the splashy package?
