Hi Sreyas,

Sure - we could have Tux swimming or something, with his speed
reflecting the typing speed. I'd still keep the wpm display in some
fashion (maybe a run-time option) as older users and teachers would
want this.

> And another thing I wanted to talk to you is about adding another game into tuxtype. I think it would be great to add something to teach the language to the children in addition to typing. I mean something like a crossword or a hangman game into tuxtype.

Hangman might be a nice addition, even though it isn't quite a typing
tutor activity. In keeping with our family-friendly policy, we would
need to come up something other than a hanging as the game setting. I
think crossword puzzles would be too hard and too far outside the
scope of the program.

> I would also like to talk to you about web feature in tuxtype. Is there any way that the users can play the game from a webpage(Homepage) without installing the game? Can we add something like this? This would be a good feature to add, but I don’t know if this is feasible as we need a web server for this and a lot of web designing to do.

I don't know much of anything about web application development. It
probably would mean rewriting the program, and I'm not even sure if
there is a good Free/OSS platform for something like that - the
browser games on the web all seem to be Flash-based. If anyone on
this list has a better handle on this, please fill us in!

Thanks,

David
