Well, first step in releasing 0.0.12-1 for Debian is that Erik chooses
to release 0.0.12 upstream.

we can also separate the EVMS improvements as a patch against 0.0.11,
but wether that is sane depends on the work in doing so compared to the
importance of it and how far Erik is from getting the upstream code
generally in a releasable state. For the concrete case of EVMS I
suspect it is too complex and is to wait for the upstream 0.0.12
release.

I hope a release of 0.0.12 for unstable will happen within few days
from an upstream release of 0.0.12 (and I hope to have found time to
setup SVN before that!).

Yaird is (contrary to initramfs-tools, it seems) not a Debian-native
program, even though the development is done relatively close together:
Yaird is for Redhat-based distros as well, and we want upstream
and Debian-specific development to be possible to move at different
pace (a new Debian release with only Redhatr-specific bugfixes would
seem odd, as would the opposite).
