Package: yaird
Version: 0.0.12-18mdx1
Severity: wishlist
Tags: patch

Hello,

currently yaird does support resuming with swsusp and suspend2 but it
does not support uswsusp. The later is a new feature of linux kernel
2.6.17-rc1 which shifts most of the suspend/resume work from kernel
space to userspace. I have prepared a patch which adds support for uswsusp
resuming to yaird 0.0.12-18. The standalone patch can be found here[1].
It should be applied on top of the fully patched 0.0.12-18. I also have
prepared packages[2], where my uswsusp patch has been MERGED with
1005_add_resume_support.patch since their purpose is similar.

Etch will ship with (at least) 2.6.17, which already has support for
uswsusp, so, in my opinion, you should to push updated yaird to etch.
Feel free CC all uswsusp related bugs to me.

NOTE: if you apply this patch, please notify uswsusp maintainter, that he
can add yaird as an alternative dependency to initramfs.

NOTE2: uswsusp initramfs integration provides splashy integration, but my
patch doesn't.
