  Hi Martin,

# yaird error: cryptsetup shows active backing device (/dev/sda6) for 'root' conflicts with /etc/crypttab:2 (UUID=143fa984-4007-402d-bc99-1c893d313c83) (fatal)
Have you tried to replace the UUID entry in crypttab by the device name?

Another hint would be: from man cryptsetup

To generate an image that will boot into /dev/vg0/root rather than the
default root, edit the configuration file to replace MOUNTDIR with
       MOUNTDEV:

              MOUNTDEV "/dev/vg0/root" "/mnt"

Maybe that remedies this, maybe not.

    Cheers,

            Nils
