[axel-users] Axel not responding

Am a new user to Ubuntu Hardy Heron/Axel. I installed the package using sudo apt-get install axel And that seems to have gone fine. But now when I run:
axel -n 4 ftp://XXX:XXX@66.90.73.37/Hindi%20DVD/551-600/586.%20Via%20Darjeeling%20Pre%20DvD/Via%20Darjeeling.avi

I only get 

Initializing download: ftp://XXX:XXX@66.90.73.37/Hindi%20DVD/551-600/586.%20Via%20Darjeeling%20Pre%20DvD/Via%20Darjeeling.avi

and nothing after that.

Help?
