Hi Andreas and everybody,

I think that it is a pure waste of time.

How many of our packages have been reimplemented in a different language,
keeping a full API compatibility and without changing the name ? To my
knowledge, non of them.

I am not willing to do that extra work of maintaining pedantic patches or to
deal with the incompatibilities and removed myself from the Uploaders of
t-coffee.

Let me repeat it: most of my colleagues are not using Debian and this idiotic
policy is making my work incompatble with their machines and our clusters. You
know, at work, we have to produce. Using Debian is sometimes an obstacle to
this, and this really annoys me. Let's be practical, please ?

Cheers,
